After a prolonged absence, the beloved Egyptian singer Amal Maher returns to her audience in Kuwait for a musical night filled with “Art, Music, and Emotion,” set to take place at the National Theatre on June 12th. The concert programme promises numerous surprises, featuring works by great Arab singers such as Umm Kulthum and Abdel Halim Hafez, alongside Kuwaiti classics and a selection of her own songs. Maestro Tamer Faydi will conduct the musical ensemble.
Amal Maher first garnered attention at the age of 13, captivating audiences with the strength and sweetness of her voice and her distinguished performances. The emerging singer improved her talent through studies at the Arab Music Institute and by participating in concerts at the Egyptian Opera House, where she distinguished herself among her peers and excelled in solo performances. This led the renowned composer Ammar El Sherei to select her to sing Umm Kulthum’s songs in the TV Show about the “Star of the East”. Amal excelled in performing the most challenging works of the late icon, earning recognition across the Arab world.
In addition to her mastery and emotional depth in performing Egyptian classics and Arab music heritage, Amal was keen on presenting her own songs that reflect her personality. Her debut album was released in 2006, marking the beginning of successive successes and increasing popularity. In just a few years, Amal Maher became one of Egypt’s most renowned voices.
